STANDS FOR "Boosting DR through increased communIty-level consumer engaGement by combining Data-driven and blockcHain technology Tools with social science approaches and multivalue service design"
GOAL: establishes partecipatory co-creation approach, with energy value chain stakeholders, to implement mechanisms and tools for better balancing both power supply and demand, i.e. Demand Response (DR).
WHY: In an ideal world, power supply perfectly matches power demand from consumers.
Traditional use of traditional fossil-fuel and business value chain allowed power balance for decades, i.e. burning more or less fossil-fuel when demanded by consumers.
This approach is definitely no more sustainable and feasible: decarbonisation coupled with larger and distributed adoption of renewable energy resources are challenging power balance. For this reason, Demand Response services for power balance are more than ever needed.
HOW: BRIGHT develops both models, services and apps by engaging all stakeholders (including consumers) taking care of intertwined social, technical and business perspectives. Validation is performed in four pilot sites (Belgium, Italy, Slovenia and Greece).
